ISLAMABAD: President Dr. Arif Alvi said on Tuesday that taking preventive measures against various diseases was a prerequisite to avert treatment that was expensive in Pakistan and such habits would also help reduce the burden on the health system. He expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation of Pakistan National Heart Association (PANAH) who invited him at Aiwan-e-Sadr to present a report on the activities and achievements of the organization, the Press Wing Secretariat President said in a press release.
The President emphasized the need to create awareness among the masses about the importance of preventive measures against non-communicable diseases and heart diseases. He also emphasized the need for the role of media, local people, mosques and NGOs in creating such awareness, apart from using various latest platforms to spread awareness messages.
PANAH President Major General (Retd) Masud Ur Rehman Kiani briefed the President on the organization’s role and public awareness campaigns, including organizing walks, seminars, lectures and training. He said that they create awareness among people about healthy activities and lifestyle. President Alvi praised PANAH for its contribution in the field of healthcare.
