A major alleged marks manipulation scandal has emerged during the 2026–27 MBBS admissions process in Sindh, after 43 pre-medical candidates were found to have discrepancies in their intermediate mark sheets.
The irregularities were identified during the verification of academic documents submitted to Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS), Jamshoro.
According to details, the university’s admissions administration sent the mark sheets of 43 suspicious candidates to the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Hyderabad for verification.
During the process, officials found differences between the marks submitted by the candidates and the figures recorded in the board’s official gazette.
University Initiates Verification Process
Director of Admissions Professor Dr Pareesa Nawaz said the university had launched a formal examination of all mark sheets submitted for medical admissions following general complaints and court orders.
Hyderabad Board Controller Shakeel Laghari also confirmed that the university administration had been formally informed about discrepancies and alleged alterations in the 43 mark sheets.
Admissions To Be Cancelled
According to the Director of Admissions, the admissions of all 43 candidates are being cancelled after the alleged manipulation was identified.
She added that, under the law, the candidates could also face a five-year ban from educational institutions.
The case has raised concerns about the verification of academic records and transparency in the medical admissions process in Sindh.
