ISLAMABAD, November 6, 2026: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has accelerated development work in Islamabad’s Sector E-12 following the recovery of 1,135 kanals of government land after four decades, with more than 60 percent of the sector’s development work now completed.
According to a CDA statement issued on Friday, construction activities are progressing across all four subsectors under the directions of CDA Chairman and Islamabad Chief Commissioner Sohail Ashraf.
The authority said the recovery of government land worth billions of rupees has helped remove longstanding obstacles to the development of Sector E-12, where residential infrastructure projects had remained delayed for years.
Development progresses across E-12 subsectors
In Sector E-12/4, earthwork has been completed, while construction of the road base, sub-base and drainage infrastructure is progressing.
Earthwork has also been completed on Khayaban-e-Iqbal Service Road and the South and East Service Roads, with road base construction and drainage work continuing.
In Sector E-12/3, triple surface treatment (TST) has been completed on 15 streets, while earthwork and road base construction are underway on the remaining streets.

Similarly, TST work has been completed on 25 streets in Sector E-12/2, with construction activities continuing on the remaining roads.
In Sector E-12/1, surface treatment has also been completed on 25 streets, while earthwork is progressing on the remaining streets.
The CDA said development teams are working to complete the remaining infrastructure in accordance with the authority’s priorities.
CDA chairman vows action against encroachments
Chairman CDA Sohail Ashraf said the authority was removing obstacles to sector development through legal measures.
He said the recovery of 1,135 kanals of government land after 40 years represented an important step towards completing the long-delayed development of Sector E-12.
Ashraf reiterated that encroachments on government land would not be tolerated and that the authority would continue taking action in accordance with the law.
He said completing development projects in Sector E-12 and other residential sectors remained among the administration’s highest priorities.
The chairman added that all available resources were being mobilised to accelerate construction and ensure the early completion of pending projects.
According to Ashraf, the development of Sector E-12 will improve residential facilities and contribute to Islamabad’s overall urban development.
He said meeting the capital’s growing housing requirements remained a key priority as the city’s population continued to expand.
