Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has said that at least 21 people have died in various incidents due to heavy rains that have lashed the province for the past four days.
Nine children and three women were among the dead, and 32 people were injured, according to government agencies.
In addition, about 330 roofs and walls collapsed in several districts of the province, 53 houses collapsed and 277 were partially damaged.
Elaborating on the relief efforts, PDMA said that 200 tents, blankets, mosquito nets and mattresses have been provided to the victims along with 100 kitchen sets and beds each.
The development has witnessed heavy rainfall in several parts of the country in recent days.
On Monday, the Balochistan government declared a rain and flood emergency due to persistent heavy rains that lashed various districts of Balochistan, killing and injuring several people in the province.
Places that witnessed heavy rain include Kohlu, Musa Khel, Obobob, Sherani, Mastung, Nushki.
Meanwhile, Chaman, Kila Abdullah, Pishin, Ziarat, Mastung, Muslim Garden, Khan Mehtarzai and Kalat witnessed the storm accompanied by strong winds that destroyed trees, gardens and solar panels.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted heavy rains in all the four provinces.
According to PMD, heavy rain and thundershowers are expected in some parts of Balochistan from April 16 to April 19.
In Sindh, the Met Office has predicted rain between April 17 and April 19.
At least 24 people were killed in lightning strikes in Balochistan and Punjab last week due to heavy rains.
A total of 16 people died in South Punjab, while Balochistan reported eight deaths due to lightning.
