12 Rabi-ul-Awwal to Be Observed on August 26

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announces that 1 Rabi-ul-Awwal 1448 AH will fall on August 15, with 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal to be observed on August 26.

ISLAMABAD, August 13, 2026: The Rabi-ul-Awwal 1448 AH moon was not sighted in Pakistan on Thursday, according to the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.

The committee held its moon-sighting meeting at the central secretariat of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony in Islamabad after Asr prayers. The meeting was chaired by Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad.

Following the absence of a confirmed sighting, the committee announced that 1 Rabi-ul-Awwal will fall on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

Accordingly, 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal will be observed on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

The date is significant for Muslims as Rabi-ul-Awwal is traditionally associated with the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), with 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal observed in Pakistan as Eid Milad-un-Nabi.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee’s announcement determines the official dates for the Islamic month in Pakistan based on the national moon-sighting process.
