Islamabad: Zong on Tuesday inaugurated a Tier-III certified cloud intelligent computing and data center at its headquarters in Islamabad, with Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja attending the ceremony as chief guest.
The facility has been launched by Zong 4G to support cloud computing, enterprise services, artificial intelligence, internet of things (IoT), cybersecurity, and next-generation connectivity services. Senior government officials and industry representatives were also present at the event.
Zong expands cloud infrastructure in Pakistan
According to company officials, the data center has been designed in line with international Tier-III standards and includes modern server architecture and energy-efficient systems. The facility is intended to enhance the company’s capacity to provide cloud-based services for businesses and public-sector institutions across Pakistan.
Government views on digital infrastructure
Speaking at the inauguration, Federal Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja said the development of digital infrastructure remains central to the country’s economic growth, innovation, and employment generation. She said government partnerships with private firms are important for strengthening national connectivity and technological capacity.
Zong’s role in cloud and AI services
Chief Executive Officer of Zong 4G Huo Junli said the newly launched center would support the company’s cloud computing and artificial intelligence platforms, along with enterprise-level services. He said Zong plans to expand its technology-based offerings to meet future digital requirements.
Technology demonstrations at the event
The event also included presentations and demonstrations by Zong’s technical teams on developments in artificial intelligence, cloud services, IoT platforms, and network modernization.
Officials said the data center is expected to contribute to Pakistan’s broader digital transformation efforts by providing localized cloud and computing infrastructure.
