ISLAMABAD: Zong and Mashreq Bank Pakistan have announced a strategic partnership to integrate telecom services into Mashreq’s digital banking platform, allowing customers to access mobile services directly through the bank’s mobile application.
Under the agreement announced on May 11, Mashreq customers in Pakistan will be able to use the app for mobile recharge, bundle subscriptions, and telecom-related payments linked to Zong services. The companies said the integration is aimed at providing secure, real-time transactions through a single digital interface.
The partnership reflects the growing integration of financial technology and telecommunications services in Pakistan, where digital banking adoption and mobile connectivity continue to expand.
In a statement, Zong Executive Director Sales and Distribution Faheem Durrani said the collaboration is intended to improve digital access and customer convenience by embedding telecom services into Mashreq’s digital ecosystem.
Mashreq Pakistan CEO Muhammad Hamayun Sajjad said the initiative would help customers manage everyday banking and mobile service needs through a unified platform. He added that the partnership is designed to offer a more seamless and secure user experience within the Mashreq app.
The companies said the collaboration aligns with broader efforts to support digital transformation and interoperable digital services in Pakistan’s financial and telecom sectors.
