ISLAMABAD: Pakistani telecom operator Zong has secured four awards at the Asian Innovation Excellence Awards 2026 in Singapore, recognising its use of artificial intelligence (AI), 5G technology, network optimisation and digital business solutions.

The awards, presented on October 20, recognised Zong in four telecommunications categories covering brand innovation, technology, consumer services and financial innovation.

Zong received the Pakistan Brand Innovation of the Year award for its AI-powered 5G campaign, AIsa Hai Future, which combined artificial intelligence with Pakistani creative expertise to promote emerging digital technologies.

According to the company, the campaign helped strengthen its brand recognition, improve consumer association with 5G technology and differentiate its services in Pakistan’s competitive telecommunications market.

In the technology category, Zong won the Pakistan Technology Innovation of the Year award for its AI-driven Self-Intelligent Radio Access Network (RAN) Optimisation platform.

Developed by the company’s in-house engineering team, the system uses artificial intelligence to detect network congestion, identify technical issues, implement corrective measures and verify results automatically.

The technology is designed to improve network performance, accelerate problem resolution and maintain service reliability during periods of high demand.

Zong also secured the Pakistan Consumer Service Innovation of the Year award for its My5 Family Sharing Package, a connectivity offering designed for households seeking flexible mobile services.

The package combines shared connectivity with additional benefits, including insurance coverage, lifestyle privileges and digital streaming services. The company said the offering provides families with an alternative to conventional home broadband services.

The fourth recognition, Pakistan Financial Innovation of the Year, went to Zong’s DI-CAPE digital commission governance platform.

The system automates commission-related processes across the company’s distribution network, aiming to improve financial transparency, operational efficiency and business coordination with distribution partners.

Commenting on the awards, Zong’s Head of Strategy and Company Spokesperson Nabila Yazdani said the recognition reflected the company’s focus on integrating advanced technologies into its services and operations.

“Winning four prestigious honors at the Asian Innovation Excellence Awards 2026 validates Zong’s technology leadership and commitment to translating 5G, AI, and home-grown digital innovation into meaningful impact,” she said.

Yazdani said the company’s initiatives ranged from AI-powered network management and consumer connectivity solutions to automated business processes and technology-driven marketing campaigns.

She added that the awards reflected Zong’s efforts to improve customer experience while supporting Pakistan’s wider digital transformation.

The company said its technology strategy remained focused on three priorities: improving customer experience, diversifying products and services, and expanding the use of artificial intelligence.

Zong plans to continue investing in 5G, AI-powered network infrastructure, digital platforms and locally developed technical solutions to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.

The four awards highlight the growing role of AI-driven technologies in Pakistan’s telecommunications industry, particularly in network management, customer services and digital business operations.
