MARDAN: Group Leader of Mardan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Zahir Shah attended the two-day “Prosper Pakistan Conference” held at a private hotel, Nathia Gali, which was jointly organized by the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and the Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Board of Investment and Trade (KPBOIT).
The special guests of the conference Advisor to the Chief Minister on Finance Muzammil Aslam and Advisor to the Chief Minister on Information Barrister Muhammad Ali, presented a shield of honor to Zahir Shah Group Leader Mardan Chamber of Commerce, in recognition of his trade promotion, excellent performance and services.
The conference was attended by prominent industrialists from across the country, ambassadors and representatives of trade organizations, government officials and experts from various fields.
The participants included Chairman of the Businessmen Panel Mian Anjum Nisar, Ex-Governor Haji Ghulam Ali, Regional Vice President of the Federation Aun Ali Syed, former Minister Fawad Chaudhry, Secretary Industries Masood Ahmed, Vice Chairman of the Board of Investment Hassan Masood, Iqbal Sarwar, Zar Alam Khan, Malik Safdar Zaman Shah and presidents of various chambers.
The conference highlighted investment opportunities, joint ventures, and the vast investment potential of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa. Various panel discussions also addressed topics such as tourism promotion, sustainable use of mineral resources, and women’s entrepreneurship.
On this occasion, Zahir Shah informed the concerned authorities about various problems and their solutions, especially the recent flood disaster in Malakand and Hazara divisions, which has caused losses to small shopkeepers and SMEs.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a cash assistance of Rs. 500,000 for the affected shopkeepers, which is insufficient. To revive businesses, the government should introduce an interest-free loan scheme for affected traders so that the affected business community can resume their jobs.
Upon the demand of Provincial General Secretary Zahir Shah, Finance Advisor Muzammil Aslam assured on behalf of the provincial government that this demand would be submitted to Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and the cabinet for consideration and God willing, it would be implemented.
He said that the business community plays a key role in establishing links with domestic and foreign investors and stabilizing the economy. He congratulated the conference organizers for organizing a successful conference and said that the Mardan Chamber will always continue to fully support such activities.
