WSSCM Forms Emergency Response Team to Tackle Monsoon Challenges

Chief Executive Officer Water and Sanitation Services Company Mardan (WSSCM), Shahid Khan has stated that company formed 43-members special sanitation team to deal with any emergency situation arising during the monsoon season. The team will remain on standby around the clock to ensure uninterrupted drainage operations across the city.

While chairing a meeting focused on improving services during the monsoon, the CEO stated that phase wise cleaning of 380-kilometer drainage network has already been completed.

Briefing the meeting, General Manager Muhammad Khalil Akbar informed that all staff leaves have been cancelled in anticipation of possible emergencies. He said the company has identified nine “hotspots” locations within Mardan city, for which a dedicated team has already been deployed and equipped with necessary machinery and tools.

He further shared that a 20-members special emergency response unit has also been formed, which has been provided with four dewatering pumps, two tractor trolleys, and one excavator. This team will be available at all times to respond to any urgent situations.

CEO Shahid Khan expressed satisfaction over the emergency preparedness plan and reaffirmed that all available resources are being utilized to provide the best possible services to citizens during the monsoon season.
