WSCCK successfully completes special Eid cleanliness campaign

Water and Sanitation Services Company Kohat (WSSCK) successfully completed a three-day special Eid cleanliness operation. By implementing its three-day Eid special cleanliness operation, 1430 tons sacrificial animal wastes were disposed of under environmentally friendly manner in six urban and KDA. Staff of the company remained on duty during three day of the Eid. In the operation, more than 96 vehicles, including Suzuki mini dumper, Garbage compactors, tractor trolleys, skip tractors, tractor shovels and excavators were participated. As many as 384 staff, including administrative officers, participated in the special Eid cleaning campaign.

Member of the Provincial Assembly and DEDAC Chairman of the Assembly Shafi Jan along with Additional Deputy Commissioner Kohat Hamid Iqbal and WSSCK Board Chairman and Acting Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Saad from Sangerh School No. 3 formally inaugurated the Eid special cleanliness operation. Additional Deputy Commissioner Hamid Iqbal and WSSCK Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Saad were also present on the occasion. According to the plan, the WSSCK has set up around 253 collection points and 22 transfer stations in its jurisdiction. The public was already informed about this through social media and awareness campaigns. The company also distributed pamphlets and around 3000 biodegradable bags in the awareness campaign. The cleaning operation was completed by 11 pm on the first day of Eid.

The complaint cell remained open from 8 am to 11 pm on all three days of Eid. The water supply staff was also on duty for three days during Eid-ul-Azha to ensure uninterrupted water supply. The waste from the three days of Eid al-Azha was dumped into a crater, which was already dug at the dumping site and was disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner after the operation ended on the third day of Eid. After the cleaning operation was completed, all the collection points were washed with phenol and lime was also applied there to prevent the spread of germs. The organization also received many video messages from the public and the work of WSSCK received a lot of appreciation on social media. On the other hand, locals expressed complete satisfaction over the cleanliness operation during the Eid.
