ISLAMABAD: The World Tennis Women’s Championship 2026 will begin on October 6 at the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) Tennis Complex in Islamabad.
According to details, 30 players from 17 countries will compete in the championship, which is expected to provide an important platform for the development of women’s tennis in Pakistan.
Players from France, China, Russia, Denmark, Mexico, Uzbekistan, South Africa, the Netherlands, South Korea, Nepal, Japan, Hong Kong, Türkiye, the Czech Republic, Germany, Thailand and Pakistan will participate in the event.
Pakistan will be represented by Ushna Suhail, Maheen Aftab Qureshi, Mehak Khokhar, Romaisa Malik and Hajra Suhail.
France’s Astrid Cirot, ranked 624th in the world, has been named the tournament’s top seed.
Pakistan Tennis Federation President Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi welcomed the international players to Pakistan and described the tournament as an important development for women’s tennis in the country.
He said the staging of international “15K” women’s tournaments in Pakistan for the first time would help promote and develop women’s tennis while providing local players with greater exposure to international competition.
