Women University Mardan marks Youm-e-Pakistan with ceremony at Bakhshali campus

MARDAN, March 31: Women University Mardan celebrated Youm-e-Pakistan with a ceremony at its Bakhshali Campus, bringing together students, faculty, and staff to commemorate the Lahore Resolution and reflect on its significance for the country’s future.

The event, organised by the Department of Political Science, highlighted the importance of unity, national identity, and the role of youth—particularly women—in Pakistan’s development.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana, addressing the gathering, underscored the historical importance of Youm-e-Pakistan and stressed the contribution of women in nation-building. She said the day serves as a reminder of collective responsibility to work towards a progressive and prosperous Pakistan.

The chief guest, Prof. Dr. Syed Minhajul Hassan, a historian and former dean at the University of Peshawar, shared insights into Pakistan’s historical journey and milestones since independence. He urged students to uphold the guiding principles of unity, faith, and discipline and play an active role in shaping the country’s future.

The ceremony was attended by a large number of students and faculty members, with participants paying tribute to the leaders of the Pakistan Movement. The event concluded with a renewed commitment to uphold the ideals of the Lahore Resolution.
