The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Primary and Secondary Education Department has officially announced the winter vacation schedule for schools across the province.
Schools in KP Plain will observe winter vacation from December 22 to December 31, 2024. Meanwhile, schools in the mountainous areas will be closed for an extended period from December 22 to February 28, 2025 due to severe weather conditions.
In a similar development, Bolan Medical College (BMC) in Quetta has also announced winter vacation. According to the notice, the college will remain closed for teaching purposes from Monday, February 28, 2025.
However, administrative staff will continue to work during this period and teachers have been instructed to observe leave in accordance with the rules.
On December 13, the Balochistan government announced winter vacation for educational institutions in the province. The notification issued by the authority details the school schedule in cold and hot areas.
Schools in cold areas will open on March 1, 2025, from December 16 to February 28. Meanwhile, the holiday will start on January 1 and end on January 10 in the warmer part of Baluchistan.
Public and private schools in Punjab will conduct winter vacation from December 20 to January 10, 2025. The vacation gives students and staff 20 days off.
