Winter rains and snowfall hit several parts of Pakistan including Chagai, Gilgit, Chaman and Killa Abdullah to bring cooler temperatures.
According to details, the first winter rainfall swept away Dalbandin, Yakmach, Posti, Barabcha, Taftan and Saindak in Chagai. A cold wind followed, intensifying the cold.
In Gilgit, it started snowing in upper reaches while light drizzle hit the city. The weather department predicted heavier snowfall overnight.
Chaman and its surrounding areas experienced rain, which increased the cold. Authorities have predicted snowfall on the surrounding mountains overnight, which will lead to a further drop in temperatures.
Qilla Abdullah witnessed overcast skies and light rain throughout the day. The weather cleared, but the winter intensified. The Meteorological Department has predicted snowfall overnight.
Separately, a few days ago, as the temperature dropped in Peshawar, residents flocked to the famous Namak Mandi to indulge in warm traditional dishes.
According to details, the cold weather made people come out of their homes to enjoy delicacies like mutton karahi, kebabs and creamy malai boti.
“With the cold setting in, many enjoy hot mutton karahi while others prefer sizzling kebabs,” said a local food vendor.
