Shah Rukh Khan’s fans are well aware of the fact that his successful career has been largely supported by his wife Gauri Khan, but did you know that unlike most wives, Gauri prayed for her husband’s films to fail rather than succeed?
According to an interview shared by Indian media, Gauri revealed that she never prayed for Shah Rukh’s success in Bollywood. Instead, she prayed for his films to flop, especially in the early years of his career. At that time, she had little interest in his movies or even his career. Gauri Khan confessed, “I didn’t wish for Shah Rukh to succeed in films; I prayed for his movies to fail because I had no desire for him to work in films.”
The reason behind this, as explained by Gauri, was the difficulties she faced in adjusting to Mumbai after their marriage. Shah Rukh had promised her that if his acting career didn’t succeed, they would return to Delhi.
Gauri Khan also admitted that she didn’t care about Shah Rukh’s successful films like Deewana or Baazigar. In fact, she never watched them. It took her about nine years to understand Shah Rukh’s films, and she received a lot of support from her friends to better understand the industry.
