Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has appointed Saima Farooq as Chairperson of the Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell and Helpline, a key public-facing body tasked with addressing citizen grievances across the province.

According to an official notification issued on January 8, the appointment has been made on a pro bono basis with immediate effect. Saima Farooq will oversee the Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell, including the public helpline 0800-02345, which serves as a central channel for citizens to report issues related to governance, service delivery, and administration.

Who is Saima Farooq?

Saima Farooq has been associated with the Sharif family for more than a decade, serving as a close administrative aide and private secretary. Known within official circles for her behind-the-scenes role, she has largely remained away from the public spotlight despite her long-standing involvement in political and administrative affairs.

Her appointment marks a transition from an internal support role to a public accountability position, placing her at the forefront of citizen engagement in Punjab’s governance structure.
