WhatsApp has introduced new features to improve communication for users with friends and loved ones. Meta, the parent company of the digital application, announced the launch of four new features in WhatsApp chats. According to a blog post, the new features include camera effects, selfie stickers, quicker reactions, and sticker pack sharing.
The aim of these new features is to make WhatsApp more user-friendly and enjoyable. Following the update, users will have access to 30 backgrounds, filters, and effects when taking photos or videos in chats. These options will allow users to add a creative touch to their photos and videos, enhancing their messaging experience.
The new selfie sticker feature allows users to turn their selfies into custom stickers by clicking on the “Create” sticker icon and using the camera. This feature is being rolled out for Android users first, with plans to introduce it for iOS devices soon.
Additionally, WhatsApp is simplifying the process of sharing sticker packs. Users can now easily recommend and share their favorite sticker packs within chats.
Another new feature makes reactions to messages more straightforward, enabling users to double-tap any message to react instantly. Frequently used emojis will also be included in reactions to express emotions without typing.
The company mentioned in the blog post that they are excited to introduce more features in 2025, and these updates will be available to users in the coming weeks.
