NANKANA SAHIB, September 11: Deputy Project Director WASA Punjab Qaiser Raza has praised WASA Nankana Sahib for its efficient monsoon drainage operations and field management, saying timely action and continuous monitoring of vulnerable areas helped provide prompt relief to residents.
Raza made the remarks during an inspection visit to ongoing WASA projects in Nankana Sahib, where he reviewed drainage arrangements and the progress of development work.
Project Manager Punjab Development Programme Malik Iftikhar Ahmed, Managing Director WASA Nankana Sahib Rana Adil Farooq and officials from WASA and NESPAK were also present.
Raza particularly appreciated the leadership and supervision of MD WASA Nankana Sahib Rana Adil Farooq, saying close monitoring and effective field management had contributed to the smooth handling of rainwater drainage operations during the monsoon season.
He also commended WASA field teams for their quick response, continuous monitoring and timely drainage arrangements.
During the visit, Rana Adil Farooq briefed the officials on the overall drainage situation in Nankana Sahib, rainwater disposal arrangements, cleaning and desilting of drains, monitoring of sensitive locations and deployment of field teams.
He said WASA was taking comprehensive measures to further strengthen the city’s drainage system and improve its long-term efficiency.
Regular cleaning and desilting of drains, close monitoring of vulnerable points and timely deployment of field teams were being given priority to ensure effective rainwater drainage and quick public relief during the monsoon, he added.
The visiting team also inspected the ongoing development scheme on Railway Road under the Punjab Development Programme and reviewed its progress.
Officials expressed satisfaction with the pace of work and directed the concerned authorities to ensure that the scheme was completed according to the approved design, technical specifications and stipulated timeline.
Raza stressed that construction quality must be maintained throughout the project and said there would be no compromise on approved standards.
The WASA and NESPAK technical teams also briefed the visiting officials on the project’s progress, technical and administrative issues and proposed measures to address them.
Raza appreciated WASA Nankana Sahib’s overall performance and said available resources were being utilised to improve drainage facilities, strengthen the monsoon response and complete ongoing development projects on time while maintaining required quality standards.
