Wapda to compete Karachi in National Women’s Basketball opener

Defending champion Pakistan Wapda will compete against Karachi in the opening match of the National Women’s Basketball Championship starting from today (Thursday) at Wapda Sports Complex Lahore.

According to the Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBBF) Secretary General Khalid Bashir said that all arrangements have been completed for the successful five-day championship where top eight teams taking part in the event have been divided into two pools.

He said that Pool “A” comprises defending champion Pakistan Wapda, Karachi, Faisalabad and Bahawalpur while Pool “B” includes teams from Pakistan Army, Lahore, Islamabad and Hazara divisions.

Khalid Bashir said that four matches will be played on a daily basis in the championship to be played from December 26 to December 30. The semi-final round of the championship will be played on December 29 while the final will be played on December 30.

The opening match of the championship will be played between defending champion Pakistan Wapda and Karachi today (Thursday), while Faisalabad and Bahawalpur, Army and Hazara, Islamabad and Lahore will compete on the first day.

Schedule:
December 26 (Day-1): Wapda vs Karachi; Faisalabad vs Bahawalpur; Army vs Hazara; Islamabad vs Lahore.

December 27 (Day-2): Wapda vs Faisalabad; Army vs Islamabad; Karachi vs Bahawalpur; Lahore vs Hazara.

December 28 (Day-3): Wapda vs Bahawalpur; Islamabad vs Hazara; Karachi vs Faisalabad; Army vs Lahore.

December 30 (Day-5): Final
