ATTOCK: SDO WAPDA Attock Ashfaq Khan has been honoured with the “Best of the Year” Award for his professional performance, dedication, honesty and commitment to serving electricity consumers.

The award was presented by IESCO Region Chief Executive Officer Engineer Chaudhry Khalid Mahmood at a ceremony organized by IESCO. Ashfaq Khan was recognized for his professional conduct, courteous dealings with consumers and efforts to address electricity-related complaints.

Recognition for Consumer Service

Ashfaq Khan began his career with his first posting in Attock, where he has continued to perform his responsibilities with dedication and professional competence.

Speaking to the media after receiving the award, he said the recognition was a source of great honour and reflected his commitment to hard work, honesty and public service.

He said his approach toward citizens visiting his office with electricity complaints had always been based on respect, patience and sincerity. Resolving consumers’ problems and fulfilling his professional responsibilities, he added, remained his top priority.

Ashfaq Khan also credited the people of Attock for their trust, cooperation and encouragement, saying their appreciation of his efforts contributed to the recognition.

SDO Chooses Cooler Over Office AC

Sharing an example of his approach to public service, Ashfaq Khan said he could have had an air conditioner installed in his office after taking charge as SDO but instead chose to have the available air conditioners provided to rooms used by his colleagues.

He said the decision was intended to help his staff work in a more comfortable environment, while he continued working with a cooler.

Reflecting on his interactions with consumers, Ashfaq Khan said he tried not only to resolve their electricity-related problems but also to listen to them patiently and respectfully.

“I would sit with a cooler myself so that when a consumer came to me with a problem, I could listen to him and keep my own temperament cool as well,” he said.
