LAHORE: Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited, in collaboration with the National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP), Rescue 1122, Frontier Works Organization (FWO), ATS and Nestlé Pakistan, conducted a large-scale emergency response drill at the Lahore–Sialkot Motorway Toll Plaza to assess preparedness for road transportation incidents.
The exercise brought together emergency services, transport operators and public-sector agencies to test coordination and response capabilities during simulated emergencies. The road safety drill focused on strengthening inter-agency cooperation and evaluating procedures for handling transportation-related incidents.
According to organizers, the simulation included multiple emergency scenarios, including firefighting operations, medical response, spill containment, product recovery, vehicle retrieval and traffic management. Participating teams carried out a coordinated response to assess communication systems, resource deployment and operational readiness under emergency conditions.
Officials said the exercise was designed to identify areas for improvement while ensuring that emergency responders and transport partners remain prepared to manage real-world incidents effectively.
Muhammad Owais Sultan, Director Manufacturing and Distribution at Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited, said the company considers safety a core operational priority and regularly works with partners to strengthen emergency preparedness and response capabilities.
Imran Shahid, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the National Highway and Motorway Police, observed the exercise and highlighted the importance of collaboration among organizations involved in emergency management. He noted that coordinated planning and response efforts play a key role in improving public safety and protecting lives during emergencies.
Senior representatives from Wafi Energy Pakistan, transport partners and participating organizations attended the event. These included officials from Rasch Private Limited, Fakhr-e-Khushab Transport Company, Badshah Transport Company and M. Abbas Logistics.
The participating organizations said such exercises help improve emergency management systems, strengthen operational coordination and support safer transportation practices across Pakistan.
