Vivo has officially unveiled the Y500 Pro, a mid‑range smartphone that delivers major upgrades in performance, durability, and battery life, while introducing a few trade‑offs compared to its predecessor.
Design and Display
The Y500 Pro features a 6.67‑inch AMOLED panel with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Though slightly smaller than the previous model, the screen is reinforced with Diamond Shield glass for added protection against scratches and drops. The device is heavier than before, but the extra weight comes with improved durability.
For resilience, the phone carries both IP68 and IP69 certifications for water and dust resistance, and it meets national standards for drop reliability. Buyers can choose from four finishes: Auspicious Cloud, Light Green, Soft Powder, and Titanium Black.
Performance and Software
Powering the Y500 Pro is the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset, offering faster clock speeds than the Dimensity 7300 used in the earlier version. The handset comes with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM, paired with storage options up to 512GB. One notable change is the use of UFS 2.2 storage, which is slower than the UFS 3.1 technology found in the previous generation.
The device runs Android 16 with Vivo’s OriginOS 6 interface, supporting 2G, 3G, 4G LTE, and 5G networks.

The headline feature is the new 200MP main camera, built on a larger 1/1.56‑inch sensor for sharper detail and improved image quality.
