Uzbek President visits Pakistan’s defence industry facility GIDS

RAWALPINDI: President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, accompanied by senior ministers, paid an official visit to Global Industrial & Defence Solutions (GIDS) in Rawalpindi on Thursday as part of his trip to Pakistan. He was received by Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, who conducted the delegation through the facility.

During the visit, the Uzbek President was briefed on the portfolio of GIDS, which includes advanced defence solutions, industrial capabilities, and technological innovations. The delegation toured key sections of the facility and viewed defence products showcasing Pakistan’s progress in indigenous defence production and industrial development.

The visit highlighted the shared commitment of Pakistan and Uzbekistan to expand cooperation in defence, technology, and industry. Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships, promoting knowledge exchange, and pursuing joint ventures.
