Pakistan spinner Usman Tariq has shared a cryptic message on social media after being left out of the national squads for the upcoming limited-overs assignments.

Shortly after the Pakistan Cricket Board announced the squads for the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka and the ODI tri-series involving England and Sri Lanka, Usman posted a message on his Instagram Story.

“The hardest test of wisdom is to remain silent when ego demands that you speak,” the spinner wrote.

The post came after Usman was omitted from both the T20I squad for the Sri Lanka series and the squad for the upcoming ODI tri-series.

The 29-year-old had enjoyed an impressive campaign during the 2026 T20 World Cup, where he played six matches and claimed 10 wickets, finishing as Pakistan’s leading wicket-taker in the tournament.

His omission from the latest squads has therefore attracted attention among cricket fans, particularly given his recent performances.

Meanwhile, Salman Ali Agha has been removed as Pakistan’s T20I captain, with Sahibzada Farhan appointed as his replacement.

Pakistan will begin their three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka on October 9 in Rawalpindi.
