The person involved in the Cybertruck bombing outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas has been identified as an active-duty US soldier, Matthew Leavelsberger. Reports from US and Russian media indicate that Leavelsberger, who had been serving in the US Army since 2006, took his own life by shooting himself before the explosion.
Leavelsberger had served in Afghanistan twice and had also been deployed to Ukraine, Tajikistan, Georgia, and Congo. However, the reasons behind the suicide and bombing outside the Trump Hotel remain unclear.
This follows a similar incident earlier in the year in New Orleans, where a man drove a car into a crowd during New Year’s celebrations. He was identified as Shamsuddin Jabar, a US military veteran. The FBI labeled the incident as terrorism, with reports confirming that Jabar was born in the US and had previously lived in Texas and North Carolina.
