The District Youth Affairs Office in Upper Dir has organized a series of Artificial Intelligence (AI) awareness and training workshops to help students and young people develop digital skills for education, employment, business and freelancing.
Held from July 13 to 17 on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Upper Dir, Manzoor Ahmad Afridi, the workshops introduced participants to the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence in Urdu and provided hands-on training in the use of popular AI tools.
Students Trained In Modern AI Tools
The workshops were conducted at Sajawal IT Institute Upper Dir, Hope College Dir, Mind Spark Academy, Modern English Language Academy Upper Dir and Jamia Darul Uloom Al-Quran Dir.
A large number of school students, college students, madrasa students and young people attended the sessions.
Master Trainer Shabbir Ahmad explained the basic concepts of Artificial Intelligence in simple Urdu and demonstrated how tools such as Google Gemini, ChatGPT, NotebookLM and Flow AI can be used for education, research, office work, business, freelancing and everyday tasks.
Focus On Responsible AI Use
Participants also received practical demonstrations of AI applications, with trainers emphasizing the responsible and ethical use of emerging technologies.
District Youth Officer Haji Akbar said the initiative aims to prepare young people for future educational, professional and entrepreneurial opportunities by strengthening their digital literacy and technology skills.
Demand For More AI Training
At the conclusion of the workshops, participants described the sessions as informative and practical, urging the District Youth Affairs Office to organize similar AI and technology training programmes in colleges, universities, madaris and other educational institutions across Upper Dir.
Officials said such initiatives will continue as part of broader efforts to equip local youth with skills needed in an increasingly digital economy.
