UPPER DIR — The District Education Officer (Male) Dir Upper has formally removed 13 teachers from service after they failed to return to duty following the expiry of their Extra Ordinary Leave (EOL). The decision was announced through Notification No. 3775-83 issued on April 23, 2026.
According to DEO Abdul Sanad Jan, the department had previously issued show-cause notices and published public notices in newspapers, giving the teachers an opportunity to explain their absence or rejoin duty. However, no compliance was observed.
Officials said the action was taken to uphold discipline, accountability, and transparency within the education department. The DEO added that ensuring staff presence and responsibility is essential for maintaining an efficient and effective education system in the district.
This move highlights the department’s effort to enforce regulations and strengthen oversight in order to improve the quality of education in Upper Dir.
