SWAT: The University of Agriculture Swat (UOAS) successfully organized an engaging and competitive sports event featuring a tug-of-war tournament, showcasing the spirit of teamwork and enthusiasm among students. Teams from various semesters actively participated, reflecting the institution’s commitment to fostering both academic and extracurricular excellence.
The tournament concluded in a thrilling final match between the 1st and 4th-semester teams. After a fierce contest, the 4th-semester students emerged victorious, securing the 1st position, while the 1st-semester team claimed the runner-up spot.
The grand finale was graced by the Honourable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Dawood Jan, who attended the match alongside faculty members, administrative staff, and an enthusiastic crowd of students. The Vice Chancellor commended the students for their remarkable energy and determination throughout the competition.
In his address, Prof. Dr. Dawood Jan emphasized the vital role of sports in education and daily life, highlighting its contribution to physical well-being, teamwork, and discipline. He encouraged students to actively engage in such events, stating that sports are a fundamental part of holistic development.
As a gesture of appreciation, the Honourable Vice Chancellor announced cash prizes for the finalists. The winning team from the 4th semester was awarded Rs. 10,000, while the runner-up team received Rs. 5,000. This recognition not only celebrated the students’ achievements but also motivated them to continue their active participation in future events.
