In Khewra, unidentified thieves escaped with four buffaloes worth one million rupees at gunpoint. According to reports, a local resident, Umar Hayat, was asleep at his farmhouse when, around 1 a.m., three unidentified men dressed in civilian clothes entered his premises. When Umar Hayat turned on a flashlight and asked who they were, they replied that they were police officers searching for a fugitive and told him to quietly go inside. After Umar Hayat went into his room, they locked the door from outside.

A short while later, Umar Hayat asked what was going on, but they silenced him by showing their weapons. When he eventually came out of the room, he found all four buffaloes missing. Earlier, two cows were stolen before Eid, and the police have failed to trace them. Just a day ago, a citizen was robbed of his motorcycle, mobile phone, and cash. In another incident, a laborer’s house was burgled and a water motor was stolen.
The increasing incidents of theft and robbery in Khewra have created an atmosphere of fear and anxiety among the residents.
