Under the personal interest and initiative of Chief Minister Punjab, Ms. Maryam Nawaz Sharif, practical steps have been launched to reduce traffic accidents. A major campaign for accident prevention has begun, and traffic police officers have been equipped with body cameras. Officers responsible for maintaining traffic flow and issuing fines have had modern cameras installed on their uniforms.
These advanced cameras will provide audio and video recording capabilities as well as location tracking. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, District Police Officer (DPO) Jhelum, Tariq Aziz Sindhu, stated that equipping the police with modern tools is a vital need of the time. He added that Jhelum Police is taking every possible step to serve the public and uphold the rule of law. The DPO further stated that the body cams will not only help improve officers’ performance but also provide effective evidence for impartial investigations of any incidents.
