Abbottabad: More than 200 young athletes from across the Hazara region participated in the Under-22 Games trials organized by the Directorate of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Regional Sports Department. The trials featured competitions in handball, boxing, badminton, and table tennis, providing a platform for emerging sports talent.
The boxing trials were overseen by Aurangzeb Khan, while table tennis trials were conducted under the supervision of Mahmood. The selection process was carried out in a transparent manner under the guidance of key officials, including District Sports Officer, Regional Sports Officer, and Assistant Sports Officer Aqib Raqib.
Speaking on the occasion, sports officials Tamreez Khan, Aminul Haq Jadoon, Aurangzeb Khan, and Mahmood emphasized the fairness of the trials and expressed confidence in the selected athletes. “The team has been chosen purely on merit, and we believe they will deliver strong performances,” they stated.
Ahmed Zaman, one of the event organizers, encouraged the young players to remain committed to their sports. “If you continue with hard work and dedication, success will undoubtedly follow,” he remarked. He also announced that training camps will be set up to provide further opportunities for athletes to refine their skills and prepare for upcoming competitions.
The Under-22 Games aim to nurture and promote young talent, ensuring that dedicated athletes from Hazara and beyond get the chance to compete at higher levels.
