British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has welcomed the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.
According to foreign news agencies, the British Prime Minister stated that the ceasefire will provide relief to the civilian populations in Lebanon and northern Israel.
He further mentioned that the consequences of the war over the past few months have been unimaginable, and the agreement should be transformed into a lasting political solution in Lebanon.
Keir Starmer added that the return of civilians to their homes will allow communities on both sides of the border to rebuild.
The British Prime Minister also emphasized that the UK will continue its efforts for sustainable peace in the Middle East, stating that there is an urgent need to move towards a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden had announced a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.
