UK business delegation visits ICCI to explore investment in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: A high-profile UK business delegation from the Adam Mercer Group of Companies (AM Group) visited the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) to explore new opportunities for trade and investment in Pakistan.

Led by Chairman Chaudhry Shafiq Ur Rehman—also a Corporate Member of the UK-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry—the delegation included Amman Rehman, CEO of AM Group London; Ihsaan Rehman, CEO of AM Group Pakistan; Farhaan Rehman, the youngest Councillor of the London Borough of Hounslow; and Chaudhry Liaquat Ali, Director of the Group in both the UK and Pakistan.

During their meeting with ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood, Senior Vice President Tahir Ayub, and Vice President Mohammad Irfan Chaudhry, the delegation discussed potential collaboration in real estate, food, education, and entrepreneurship development. Several ICCI Executive Members and business leaders also attended.

Chairman Chaudhry Shafiq Ur Rehman shared that AM Group, already active in Islamabad’s hospitality sector, is now keen to expand its footprint across multiple industries. He emphasized the Group’s commitment to empowering youth through entrepreneurship training, helping them become job creators.

Welcoming the delegation, ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood praised the Group’s investment vision and assured full support. “ICCI is ready to facilitate international investors and ensure a smooth process for their ventures,” he said.

He also congratulated Farhaan Rehman on his election as the youngest Councillor in Hounslow, calling him “a source of pride for Pakistan.” He added that the country’s youth have immense potential and need the right platforms to succeed globally.

Sardar Tahir highlighted ICCI’s focus on building strong links between business and academia to promote entrepreneurial skills. He noted that Pakistan’s rapid urban growth offers vast opportunities in housing, commercial development, and innovation.

Senior Vice President Tahir Ayub and Vice President Mohammad Irfan Chaudhry reaffirmed ICCI’s commitment to supporting both local and overseas investors. They emphasized the Chamber’s role in providing guidance, coordination, and facilitation to boost economic development.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthen bilateral business ties and unlock new investment opportunities. The UK business delegation expressed strong interest in long-term partnerships with Pakistan’s private sector.

ICCI Executive Members Zulqurnain Abbasi, Malik Mohsin Khalid, Aqeel Malik, and Dr. Raja Amjad Pomi were also present.
