The UAE has entered the global top four destinations for vacation homes, ranking fourth in a new international study that highlights its infrastructure, accessibility, and investor-friendly policies.
UAE joins top global destinations for vacation homes
A recent analysis by Property Finder places the UAE among the world’s most attractive markets for vacation homes, ranking fourth out of 32 countries with a Vacation Score of 65.4. The study evaluated affordability, infrastructure, rental returns, tax policies, and lifestyle appeal, positioning the United Arab Emirates alongside long-established tourism leaders.
Infrastructure and connectivity drive UAE’s appeal
Unlike traditional vacation home markets built on heritage and natural charm, the UAE’s rise is attributed to its modern urban planning and global connectivity. With eight international airports and six national carriers offering access to over 600 destinations, the country earned an Accessibility and Infrastructure score of 88.2 — one of the highest globally.
Investor-friendly policies and ownership rights
The UAE’s regulatory framework supports full foreign ownership of property and imposes no annual property taxes. Its Golden Visa programme offers long-term residency to qualifying investors, enhancing the country’s appeal for second-home buyers seeking stability and clear ownership rights.
Value for investment and luxury offerings
With an Affordability and Value score of 68.1, the United Arab Emirates offers high-end finishes, newer construction, and spacious layouts at competitive prices compared to major Western cities. Buyers can choose from waterfront villas, branded residences, and penthouses across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and other emirates.
Lifestyle and long-term livability
The UAE continues to gain recognition for its safety, hospitality, and amenities. Well-maintained beaches, entertainment districts, luxury retail, and year-round events contribute to its reputation as a cosmopolitan hub. The country’s consistent economic stability and openness make it a strategic base for international living.
Global context and shifting buyer priorities
Spain, France, and Portugal lead the ranking with scores of 79.3, 69.4, and 65.8 respectively, driven by cultural heritage and scenic appeal. The United States follows the UAE in fifth place with 64.4. The study reflects a shift in buyer preferences toward mobility, transparency, and long-term security — areas where the UAE performs strongly.
