According to American media reports, the suspended programs include aid initiatives for Ukraine, Taiwan, and Jordan. These programs have initially been suspended for 90 days. Documents indicate that only emergency food assistance and aid for Israel and Egypt are exempt from the suspension.
U.S. media further reports that all diplomatic and consular missions have been directed by the State Department to immediately halt all aid programs.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio will personally review these programs and decide whether to modify or terminate them entirely. However, the State Department has yet to confirm this development.
On Monday, President Trump issued an executive order to defer foreign development aid to assess its effectiveness and alignment with U.S. foreign policy objectives.
