Islamabad, Jan 28, 2026 — Two senior officers of the Pakistan Navy have been promoted from the rank of commodore to rear admiral, according to a statement issued by the Directorate General Public Relations (Navy).
The officers promoted are Javed Zia and Armaghan Ahmad, both of whom were commissioned into the Pakistan Navy in 1994 and have served in key command, staff, and technical appointments during their careers.

Rear Admiral Javed Zia was commissioned in the Weapon Engineering Branch of the Pakistan Navy. He is a graduate of the Pakistan Navy War College, Lahore, and the National Defence University, Islamabad, and holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST). Over the course of his naval career, he has held several important appointments and is currently serving as Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Materiel) at Naval Headquarters, Islamabad.
Rear Admiral Armaghan Ahmad was commissioned in the Marine Engineering Branch. He is also a graduate of the Pakistan Navy War College, Lahore, and the National Defence University, Islamabad, and holds a Master of Science degree in Manufacturing System Engineering and Management from NUST. He has extensive experience across a range of key appointments and is presently serving as Managing Director of Dockyard, Karachi.
In recognition of their meritorious and distinguished services to the Pakistan Navy, both flag officers have been awarded the Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military).
