NOKCHA, September 27, 2026: Security forces killed two alleged members of the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) during an operation in Nokcha after they reportedly set an empty water bowser on fire and attempted to flee, security sources said.
According to security sources, the two suspects allegedly torched the vehicle before escaping from the scene. Security personnel launched an immediate pursuit, which led to an exchange of fire in which both suspects were killed.
The sources identified the two men as BLA members and alleged that they had previously been involved in incidents of arson at different locations along the N-40 highway.
Second major operation against suspected BLA militants in a month
The latest incident comes nearly four weeks after another security operation on August 31, when 11 alleged BLA members were killed, according to security sources.
The sources said those killed in the earlier operation were also suspected of involvement in attempts to set vehicles ablaze and other acts of sabotage.
Security officials are examining whether the latest incident has any connection with previous attacks along the N-40 highway.
The sources said vehicle arson and suspected sabotage were common elements in both incidents, although investigations into any possible links remain underway.
Security tightened in Nokcha after operation
Security has been tightened in Nokcha and surrounding areas following the latest operation.
According to security sources, operations against suspected militant activities are continuing, while further investigations are underway into the two men’s alleged involvement in earlier incidents.
