A high-level Turkish defence delegation, led by General Ziya Cemal Kadioglu, Commander of the Turkish Air Force, called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. The delegation received a warm welcome on arrival at Air Headquarters.
A smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Air Force presented Guard of Honour to the visiting commander.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the regional security environment, ongoing defence collaboration, and future opportunities for joint engagement in modern warfare.
Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu highlighted the historic brotherly ties between Pakistan and Turkiye. He said these ties are rooted in shared beliefs, aspirations, and strategic alignment. The Air Chief noted that the arrival of Turkish cadets at PAF Academy Asghar Khan marks a major milestone in bilateral defence relations. He added that this step opens a new chapter in the partnership, reflecting mutual trust and a shared vision for the next generation of air warriors.
Both commanders reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation. They agreed to focus on joint training, mutual exercises, and multi-domain operations.
General Ziya Cemal Kadioglu praised the PAF’s operational performance during the recent conflict with India. He commended the force’s state of readiness and its resolute defence of national sovereignty. He also expressed interest in learning from Pakistan’s strategies in multi-domain warfare. The Turkish commander said his force aims to study Pakistan’s operational lessons to strengthen its own doctrine and preparedness.
The visiting dignitary appreciated the National Aerospace Science & Technology Park. He lauded the indigenous capabilities developed by the PAF in aerospace innovation, technological advancement, and operational self-reliance.
Both sides reiterated their resolve to learn from each other’s experiences and to work as a cohesive team.
The visit of the Turkish Air Force Commander symbolizes the shared resolve of Pakistan and Turkiye to deepen strategic cooperation and reinforce defence ties.
