Rawalpindi: The Armed Forces of Pakistan solemnly commemorated the 77th martyrdom anniversary of Naik Saif Ali Janjua Shaheed, Hilal-e-Kashmir, paying rich tribute to his extraordinary courage, steadfast resolve, and supreme sacrifice for the defence of the motherland.
On behalf of the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff; General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI, NI (M), Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee; Admiral Naveed Ashraf, NI, NI (M), Chief of the Naval Staff; and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, NI (M), HJ, Chief of the Air Staff, honoured the memory of the Kashmiri hero whose bravery remains an enduring symbol of valour.
Naik Saif Ali Janjua Shaheed displayed exceptional gallantry and leadership while defending the strategically significant Pir Kaleva Ridge during the 1948 conflict. Despite heavy enemy offensives, he stood firm, leading his men with unmatched determination until he embraced martyrdom in the line of duty.
His heroism continues to inspire generations of Pakistani soldiers, embodying the highest traditions of military service and devotion to the nation. The Armed Forces reaffirmed that his sacrifice, along with those of countless other martyrs, remains a guiding light for all who defend Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The nation pays heartfelt homage to its brave sons whose sacrifices are eternally engraved in the country’s collective memory, symbolizing pride, honour, and unwavering patriotism.
