UPPER DIR: The District Youth Office Upper Dir, in collaboration with the district administration and Directorate of Societies, organized a week-long training workshop on travel guide and hotel management at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Sheringal.
The workshop aimed to equip students with practical skills in tourism, travel guiding and hotel management, helping them explore employment opportunities and support tourism promotion in the region.
The closing ceremony was held at the university’s Main Academic Block. Additional Deputy Commissioner Relief Sher Ali Khan and SRSP District Project Manager Murad Khan attended as chief guests.
Students trained in tourism skills
Addressing the ceremony, Sher Ali Khan said youth were a valuable national asset and could earn a respectable income through professions linked to travel guiding and tourism.
Dr Wajid Raza conducted a detailed session on travel guiding, while Dr Fazal Haleem spoke on hotel management. Dr Juma Muhammad delivered a session on eco-tourism, and Nomi Khan guided participants on domestic travel and registration procedures.
More than 60 students received participation certificates at the end of the workshop.
District Youth Officer Shehzad Tariq presented commemorative gifts to the chief guests and other notable participants.
