To review preparedness and preventive measures against the dengue virus at district level, a high level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mardan, Dr. Azmatullah Wazir at his office On Monday.
Health department officials provided a detailed briefing outlining a comprehensive strategy which included identification of potential mosquito breeding sites, improved drainage systems, elimination of stagnant water, and ongoing fogging and spraying campaigns.
The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the readiness of isolation wards in hospitals and stressed the need for effective coordination among all relevant departments. He stated that dengue prevention is a collective responsibility and emphasized the importance of a robust public awareness campaign.
Dr. Wazir directed that awareness should be raised through Friday sermons, video messages, seminars, awareness walks, and display of informative banners to keep the public informed and engaged.
