For users aged 16 and under, direct messaging is disabled by default, and push notifications are automatically muted during nighttime hours. Teens under 18 also have a default screen-time limit of 60 minutes per day, with content filters in place to ensure age-appropriate viewing. TikTok uses advanced technology to verify user age and tailor the content feed accordingly.

Pakistani parents can now view their teen’s privacy settings and receive alerts when public videos are posted. These features are not just about control — they’re designed to spark family conversations around digital boundaries, screen-time balance, and responsible content creation.

Mindfulness Meets Technology: Guided Meditation for Better Sleep

In a move that blends mental wellness with digital innovation, TikTok has also introduced a Guided Meditation feature within its Sleep Hours setting. For teens, the feature activates automatically after 10 p.m., replacing the usual For You Feed with a meditation prompt. Adults can opt in manually through their screen-time settings.
