Through Research and Dialogue, We Empower Our Youth,” Says VC as Women University Swabi Hosts Prestigious International Conference

“It is through research, collaboration, and critical dialogue that we equip our youth especially young women with the tools to build a just and progressive society,” said Prof. Dr. Ghazala Yasmeen, Vice Chancellor of Women University Swabi, while addressing the closing ceremony of the 3rd International Conference on Emerging Trends in Social Sciences (ICETSS 2025). The conference was successfully organized by Women University Swabi in collaboration with the Global Institute of Social Sciences Research (GISSR), Sustaining the Humanity, and the District Youth Affairs Department, Swabi.

The academic gathering brought together renowned scholars, researchers, and students from across the country. More than 80 research papers were presented on vital topics such as mental health, academic stress, emotional intelligence, gender equity, and social resilience, showcasing the research capabilities and critical thinking of both students and faculty. The Vice Chancellor appreciated the contributions of Faiza from the Youth Affairs Department and Abdul Aziz from the District Youth Department, and highly praised the Department of Psychology for their exceptional planning and execution of the conference sessions.

Among the distinguished experts were Dr. Ahmad Ali, Dr. Hussain, Dr. Sanaullah, Dr. Sajid (Institute of Education and Research), and Dr. Muhammad Ishaq from Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, who shared their insights on the intersection of psychology and sociology, social challenges, and emerging academic trends. Dr. Sameer Ahmad from Shaheed Benazir University, Sheringal, also delivered a thought-provoking talk on mental health issues in rural communities and the need for localized solutions.

Throughout the conference, in-depth discussions were held on interdisciplinary connections between sociology and psychology, shifting trends in education and training, and the emotional and mental health challenges faced by youth. Students were provided a valuable platform to present their research and engage directly with national and international scholars, thereby enhancing their academic exposure and professional growth.

In her closing remarks, Prof. Dr. Ghazala Yasmeen thanked all the organizers, speakers, participants, and partner institutions, stating that ICETSS 2025 was not merely an event but a landmark in the university’s academic journey. She emphasized that such platforms play a vital role in promoting research-based solutions to societal challenges and contribute toward sustainable academic progress.

She expressed hope that the collaborations initiated through this conference would lead to long-term academic partnerships beneficial for students, faculty, and society at large. At the conclusion, shields and certificates of appreciation were presented to speakers, paper presenters, and high-performing students. The Psychology Department was especially commended for its outstanding efforts. The conference concluded on a note of academic excellence, collaboration, and shared commitment to societal development.
