Police arrest three suspects in an alleged gang-rape case involving a married woman in Swat’s Matta tehsil

SWAT: Police have arrested three suspects in connection with an alleged gang-rape case involving a married woman in the rural area of Azaad Banda in Matta tehsil, officials said on Thursday.

According to police, the case gained attention after reports circulated on social media, prompting District Police Officer Muhammad Umar Khan to order immediate legal action and investigation.

Police said a case was registered at Kalakot Police Station on the complaint of the victim, identified as Ms. R, against five nominated suspects and one unidentified individual.

Officials identified the arrested suspects as Attaullah, Zahidullah and Saeedullah, while efforts are under way to arrest the remaining accused.

Victim alleges abduction and assault

According to the police report, the complainant stated that she was travelling with her two children toward her parents’ home around a month ago when the suspects allegedly intercepted her and forced her into a vehicle at gunpoint.

Police said the woman alleged that she was taken to an abandoned house in a remote area, where she was sexually assaulted by multiple suspects.

The complainant also alleged that the suspects recorded objectionable videos and threatened her with death if she informed anyone about the incident.
