RIYADH: Three Pakistani personalities — Atiqur Rehman Allahwala, Azhar Zia and Atif Iqbal — have been recognized at the Global Image Awards Middle East ceremony held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Atiqur Rehman Allahwala, a member of the management committee of Jamiat Punjabi Saudagaran Delhi and chief executive of Aman Tower, received the Global Community Services Award for his reported contributions to community services.
Azhar Zia, CEO of Ema Enterprise Event Planner, was presented with the Global Event Service Award, while Atif Iqbal, CCO of High-Q Group and Vida Laboratories, received the Global Health and Wellness Award.
Pakistani Professionals Recognized in Riyadh
The awards ceremony brought together business and professional figures from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States, according to the organizers.
Speaking on the occasion, Atiqur Rehman Allahwala dedicated his award to Jamiat Punjabi Saudagaran Delhi and said the recognition represented an acknowledgment of his work in community services.
Azhar Zia described his award as an international honor and said the recognition also highlighted Pakistan’s presence in the event management sector.
Atif Iqbal was recognized for his contribution to the health and wellness sector.
Global Image Awards Middle East
According to information provided by the organizers, the Global Image Awards (GIA) recognize individuals from different countries for their professional achievements and contributions across various fields.
The event also featured several other Pakistani professionals, including Majid Hassan, vice president of Globe Digital (Private) Limited, and Syed Abdul Qadir, executive director at Tech Consulting and Cyber Risk Assurance, A.F. Ferguson & Co.
Representatives and professionals from education and industry were also among the participants, including Dr Sumbal Khan, Munir Ahmed Shad, Wajid Gulistan, Muhammad Salman Ali and Mehboob Hussain.
The organizers said the Global Image Awards Middle East platform recognizes individuals from more than 35 countries across different sectors.
Awards Presented at Riyadh Ceremony
The organizers identified Dr Ahmed bin Abdul Karim Al-Kholifey, former governor of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA), now the Saudi Central Bank, as the chief guest at the Riyadh ceremony. They also noted that he had previously served as a Minister of State and member of the Saudi Council of Ministers.
According to the organizers, Dr Al-Kholifey personally presented awards to recipients during the ceremony.
The event’s organizers also cited participation or patronage associated with several GCC and royal offices, including offices linked to figures in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.
