At least Three-persons were killed and other Five were sustained in a deadly clash between two groups over a water dispute in the Mashkumai area of Khwazakhela Tehsil of Swat district. Police officials confirmed. According to SHO Khwazakhela police station Zahid Shah, the dispute escalated when one group allegedly began washing a handcart in an irrigation canal, sparking a heated argument., added that it quickly turned violent, resulting in an exchange of gunfire between the rival groups.
“From one group, Murad Khan son of Momin Khan resident of resident of Manglawar and Jannat Gul son of Jumma Khan resident of Mingora were killed, added that, injured from the same group include Momin Khan and Muzaffar Khan sons of Sher Dad, Daulat Khan son of Shaibar, residents of Manglawar and Asadullah son of Khalid Usman resident of Batkhela,” he said. He said that from the opposing side, Abuzar son of Muhammad Zada resident of Mashkuma was also killed, while his father Muhammad Zada son of Sar Zameen Khan sustained injuries.
After the incident, Fatehpur Police reached the scene promptly and brought the situation under control. FIR have been registered against both parties, and further investigations are underway. Due to the severity of the incident, security has been tightened in the area to prevent further escalation.
