Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has refused to participate in the meeting of the special committee of the Parliament while continuing to separate politics from the current ruling and opposition parties, while the summary of calling the National Assembly and Senate meeting on the 26th constitutional amendment on October 17 has been sent to the President.
This development has been described by observers as a weak decision for the country’s democracy because by doing so there is a possibility of continuing political anarchy in the country. If Tehreek-e-Insaf had been willing to negotiate with the government on the above mentioned constitutional amendment, perhaps the suggestions presented by it would have been included in this amendment and the journey of sustaining the democratic system in the country would have started but it could not happen and because of this there is a political crisis in the country.
Meanwhile Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam and PPP agreed on the draft of the 26th constitutional amendment. It should be remembered that yesterday Bilawal Bhutto and Maulana Fazlur Rehman had a meeting in Bilawal Haas Karachi in which the leaders of both the parties also participated. Fazlur Rehman and Bilawal made the announcement in front of the media in this regard, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that both parties have agreed on the constitutional amendment draft and Bilawal Bhutto played an important role in reaching this consensus.
However he said that the draft which he rejected is still unacceptable. Yes, they had an idea of our thinking, that’s why we expect from all the parties that the constitution amendment will be put in the assembly first then everyone has to work together to protect the constitution. It is to keep the constitution strong and create confidence in the political system.
Maulana Fazlur Rahman said that today we have to think seriously if the country has a constitution and a parliament, then we have to raise our voice for it. He said, I think the proposals we are discussing are not hidden from the nation. We shared the outline of our proposals with them thus the consensus reached today between the People’s Party and JUI will try to include the PML-N in this and I am hopeful that JUI and ppp has been agreed that the basis of the bill will be done on consensus.
The goal and focus of all of us is not for a specific person and neither for specific time. We have to solve the problems of the people. It has to be done properly. I hope all the political parties will agree for the interest of the country and not for their own politics. Bilawal said that I am grateful to Maulana Fazlur Rehman and I hope that I will work with him in the same way as I used to do in the past.
He also said that he will sit with Nawaz Sharif and create a consensus and the consensus will be presented to the masses. He said that we would like Nawaz Sharif to get consensus and efforts will be made to create such a consensus in the Bill that it will be considered a consensual constitutional amendment and there has been a serious discussion with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
The discussion between the leadership of the People’s Party and the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam is a good sign in the current political situation but until the Pakistan Muslim League (N) and its opponent Tehreek-e-Insaf also come forward with real opinions and suggestions till then there will be clouds of uncertainty over the said constitutional amendment.
Especially what Maulana Fazlur Rehman has pointed out is quite meaningful that there is still room for discussion between the People’s Party Muslim League and the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam on the aforementioned constitutional amendment so Maulana Fazlur Rehman is talking very carefully by the time these lines are published, the leadership of both the parties will have met with Muhammad Nawaz Sharif after which it will be possible to know the right situation. It is because till Tehreek Insaaf becomes a part of this important modification of national politics at that time political stability in the country seems impossible.
