Chief Executive Officer Rawalpindi Waste Management Company Rana Sajid Safdar has said that the company has finalized a comprehensive sanitation plan to provide a clean and healthy environment to the mourners during the holy days of Muharram. The leaves of all workers have been canceled and additional personnel have been deployed in different shifts.He expressed these views in a meeting chaired by him at his office regarding the operational preparations for Muharram-ul-Haram. Rana Sajid Safdar said that Rawalpindi Waste Management Company has always been at the forefront in providing the best sanitation facilities to the citizens on every religious, cultural and national occasion and this tradition will be maintained during Muharram-ul-Haram as well.
He said that special cleanliness measures will be taken in Rawalpindi city and all tehsils of the division, including Talagang, from 1st Muharram to Ashura. For this purpose, instructions have been issued to local private contractors AQk and staff to perform duties in two shifts.The CEO RWMC further said that special cleaning, washing, phenol and lime spraying will be ensured at all Imambargahs, places of gathering and procession routes so that pilgrims and citizens can have a clean and safe environment. District Manager Raja Muhammad Umar Musaed said that the process of cleaning garbage, debris and other waste from the procession routes has been started ahead of time,So that there is no disruption or disorder during the days of Ashura.
He said that a special monitoring team has been formed under the leadership of Senior Manager Operations Dr. Hamid Iqbal to monitor these measures, which will remain in close contact with the organizers of the processions and gatherings and will continuously monitor cleanliness issues.Rana Sajid Safdar clarified that RWMC’s helpline 1139 will remain fully functional during Muharram, on which citizens can file complaints and suggestions related to cleanliness and the company’s teams will ensure immediate action.CEO RWMC appealed to the local administration, all administrators, scholars, volunteers and citizens for cooperation, saying that cleanliness is half of faith and it is the common responsibility of all of us to take care of cleanliness during these holy days.
