The Board of Directors of Water and Sanitation Services Company Mardan has lauded the performance of the sanitation staff

The Board of Directors (BoD) of Water and Sanitation Services Company Mardan (WSSCM) has lauded the performance of the sanitation staff for maintaining exemplary cleanliness in Mardan city during EidulAdha. In recognition of their services, the BoD approved 15% increase in the Special Duty Allowance (SDA) for the sanitation staff.

This decision was made during the 75th Board meeting chaired by Chairman Board of Directors Engineer Adil Nawaz. The BoD members Haroon Rashid, Javed Hussain, Mubina Raziuddin, CEO Shahid Khan, Regional Municipal Officer Zeeshan Arif, Finance Officer from Deputy Commissioner Officer Saranzeb, Deputy Secretary Finance Fazal Elahi and Section Officer Local Government Azam Khan participated in the meeting through Zoom.
Speaking on the occasion Chairman Engineer Adil Nawaz paid tribute to the sanitation and management staff for their commendable efforts during Eiduladha. He also acknowledged the cooperation of the citizens, stating that with continued public support, Mardan is well on its way to become a model city in cleanliness.

The Board also directed strict disciplinary action against staff who failed to report for duty during Eiduladha. Engineer Adil Nawaz directed the concerned to expedite measures to enhance revenue, which would directly impact the quality and reach of services provided to citizens.
The Board discussed potential avenues for resource generation through waste-to-product initiatives and directed the formulation of a comprehensive action plan to be presented in the next meeting. The Board also granted in-principle approval for the procurement of special vehicles under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cities Improvement Project (KPCIP) for the Sewerage Treatment Plant.

To ensure the quality and progress of the treatment plant’s construction, the Board approved the formation of a Monitoring Committee comprising WSSCM’s General Manager, Deputy Manager Customer Care, Deputy Manager Waste Water Management, Deputy Manager Works, Project Officer and community representatives including Engr. Arsalan Aziz, Haji Bakhshad, Engr. Waqas, and Engr. Waqar. The committee will submit monthly progress reports to the Board. Concluding the meeting, Chairman Engr. Adil Nawaz urged all departments to further enhance their performance to ensure improved service delivery to the public.
